Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (Disorder). Oxidative Stress. Why they matter!

Ohm recognizes the difference between system inflammation and gut population provided by probiotic supplementation. Many with a strongly populated gut continue to have unexplained chronic inflammatory and hyperallergic conditions which could be Mast Cell disorder. Symptoms thought to be "managed", usually are not.

Mast Cell Activation Disorder, HyperAllergic Sensitivity and Oxidative Stress create the perfect chronic and debilitating triangle. Lately there has been a lot of buzz about of these conditions and the devastating issues they cause. We took a deep dive into recent scientific studies and compiled the info into usable, readable format. We have also included some helpful supplemental information for the resulting issues and conditions. Here is the takeaway on why they are conjoined and their disorders...

Why are they conjoined?

Oxidative Stress occurs when the generated oxygen byproduct of normal aerobic metabolism creates an abnormal amount in the body.

  • After an illness, or a stressful event higher oxygen amounts remain in cells.
  • Uncontrolled, this oxygen (reactive oxygen species, ROS) imbalances with the antioxidant capacity of the cell, builds and creates an overload of Oxidative Stress.

Mast Cells, white blood cells are part of the immune system.

  • Concentrated in the body where it meets the environment: the skin, lungs, and intestinal tract.
  • As part of the immune system they detect pathogens and launch an inflammatory immune response or inflammatory allergic response by releasing histamines.
  • Mast cells need to perform as intended for our immune system and allergic response to work properly.

HyperAllergic Sensitivity, extreme allergic reactions of body systems.

  • Nervous system reactiveness and disorders
  • Organ system reactiveness and disorders
  • Multi Level extreme response to innocuous environmental surroundings

Disorders

Why wouldn’t mast cells perform correctly? Advanced Oxidative Stress. Many studies relate the cause of mast cell molecular damage, abnormalities, disfunction to advanced uncontrolled oxidative stress. In an overloaded environment, Mast Cells trigger an abnormal histamine release to usually innocuous matters creating a severe allergic response, HyperAllergic Sensitivities. These responses can exist in GI Tract, any organ, bones, skin, and major nerves. Mast cell malfunction, Mastocytosis, create many debilitating illnesses and conditions. The list of conditions is vast, for example:

  • Autoimmune illnesses
  • Neurodegenerative Diseases
  • Internal organ inflammation and constriction; Systemic Mastocytosis
  • GI illnesses, including IBS
  • HyperAllergic Sensitivities; Skin, hives
  • Dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema
  • Chronic organ involvement
  • Long Viral Illness
  • Depression–anxiety-like symptoms and cognitive impairment
  • K-9 Neurodegenerative Diseases

How to improve the conditions they cause?

We, provide a lot of information about Oxidative Stress and the enzyme Superoxide Dismutase, SOD. SOD clears the body of Oxidative Stress when it is activated. So simple, right!? Not really. SOD needs Manganese, Mn, as a cofactor for necessary functional activation. Simple again, right? No, again. Manganese supplementation is difficult as it does not absorb well orally into the digestion system. It is best absorbed through the skin, ie. in a mineral bath.

We have long promoted using one of our Patent Pending "absorb through the skin" Manganese products (Bath or Aloe) to ensure an ample Manganese supply is available to activate SOD and reduce an overload Oxidative Stress.

We recognize that Mast Cell Activation Disorders and related  symptoms may not end by reducing the Oxidative Stress alone. If organ inflammation, constriction and hyperallergic sensitivities remain a problem or demonstratively debilitating a two tier approach is necessary.  clear the oxidative stress while simultaneously treating damaged Mast Cells. The symptoms and conditions can and will be exacerbated by new viral illnesses, pathogens or stress creating additional oxidative stress, a never ending cycle .

If Manganese has reduced symptoms but not taken the body over the "well goal line" we've recommend Ohm's powerful Topical Blend suspended in Aloe to reduce symptoms, layer by layer.

As each layer, skin, lymphatic and organs, responds to a reduction of Oxidative stress and Mast Cell disorder the hyperallergic sensitivity activity and chronic conditions relieve. In the end, the body's immune system is improved and is able to combat new pathogens whatever the source.

UPDATE: In 2022 we began formulations for the Vagus Nerve. We believe our research is critical for the recovery of chronic conditions including long viral issues. Visit the Vagus Triolgy Blog for more information and product links.
