Calcium+Strontium = Neurotransmitters

Calcium the mineral messenger...

Calcium is an element, as a mineral compound it is found in many foods. (3) We need calcium to maintain strong bones and to carry out many important functions. Almost all of our calcium is stored in bones and teeth, where it supports their structure and hardness. We also need calcium to trigger a multitude of signaling cascades for nerves to carry messages between the brain and throughout the body.

How mineral messaging works?

In a classic synapse, calcium's main role is to trigger the release of chemicals (called neurotransmitters) from the presynaptic neuron.  Presynaptic is nerve cell that releases a transmitter substance into a point at which a nervous impulse passes from one neuron to another during a transmission impulse.

Do we need Calcium+Strontium?

What is all this talk about the trace element Strontium? Ohm has encouraged balanced mineral absorption through skin for years, either through a mineral bath or topical mineral powder. Included is Strontium Sulfate,SrSO4, the mineral Celestite. It is very soft, and easily absorbed through the skin. Celestite is in several Ohm products. One favorite products, is KA-POW!   used on the forehead every morning for brain energy.  Is there any science to KA-POW!? Yes, it is all about your 'Neuronal Transmitter Release"!

Strontium as a Presynaptic?

A study of "Neuronal Network Activity" discovers (1.) Strontium enhances the firing rate, bursts of spikes, throughout the neuronal network and elevates release at different times. Suggesting that increased off timed release on the single-neuron level promotes bursting activity in the network.

Another study "Presynaptic Strontium Dynamics" finds (2.) Strontium can replace calcium in triggering neurotransmitter release and the duration of release is prolonged. Strontium's release and mechanism of action is not well understood. After a single stimulus, strontium reached higher peak than calcium. The differences in calcium and strontium dynamics are likely a consequence of greater strontium permeability through calcium channels. (4.) In many tissues, calcium-permeable channels have been extensively studied and characterized, blood-brain barrier (BBB).

How to get Strontium?

Do you have enough Strontium in your body? Probably not. Strontium is widely available as an oral supplement but is not well tolerated or absorbed studies have shown (5, 6 .). Skin absorption is probably the best way to get needed Strontium into the body.

Ohm's Strontium rich baths Elements and SpringH2O both designed after famous spas and spring mineral water content. Both balanced in healthy holistic minerals to use in your bath. KA-POW! our topical for morning use rubbed onto your forehead. KA-POW! can clear even the toughest morning fog giving your day the BLAST it deserves!
